Houston-based engineering and oil services company Global Industries (Nasdaq: GLBL) has been awarded a US$90mn contract to carry out construction work off the northeast coast of Brazil, the company said in a press release.
The contract signed between Global's local subsidiary, Global Industries Brasil, and an unnamed oil company, covers design, engineering, procurement and installation works.
Global's work will be carried out mainly by its DLB Iroquois pipelay and offshore construction vessel. Initial preparations for the work will start before year-end, with execution due to begin in 2011.
A company official declined to provide more details on the deal when contacted by BNamericas.
The firm signed a US$70mn deal with Brazils' federal energy giant Petrobras covering similar projects in the Campos, Espirito Santo and Santos basins in September last year.Fonte: Site Business News Americas
