Subsea 7 In The Lead For UOTE

Subsea 7 presented the best proposal for the installation of an Offshore Unit for Transfers and Export (UOTE) for Petrobras.  The unit will be installed in the Campos Basin at 80 km off the coast and will operate as an ocean terminal.  The proposal is still being analyzed by the oil company.

The project foresees the installation of an FSO connected to two mono-buoys via under water hoses, rigid pipes and subsea equipment. The unit will receive oil via the FSO that will be able to store it temporarily or transfer it to another vessel moored to the mono-buoys. An overflow can also be carried out via the mono-buoys.

Petrobras invited 10 companies of which four presented proposals and only the Subsea 7 proposal and that of the Technip/Global consortium have been opened.
