USA/GULF OF MEXICO: ENI is currently reviewing bids that were submitted on June 1 for its Appaloosa tender. Sources close to the project advise that ENI looks to select a contractor on July 6. The work scope includes the installation of 20-miles (32km) of 8-in flowline, as well as the field's umbilical. Appaloosa is part of the greater Longhorn area and is located in Mississippi Canyon Block 460. Water depth in the field is approximately 2,600 fsw (792 msw).
ODS-Petrodata says: Sources indicate that a total of five bidders participated in the tender; known bidders include Technip, Acergy, Global Industries and Subsea 7. Installation works are set to begin as early as the fourth quarter.
Contracting
BRAZIL: Among the Brazilian companies invited to bid on Petrobras' tender for the supply of the Iara and Guara FPSOs are Andrade Gutierrez, Camargo Correa, Etesco, Odebrecht and Petroserv. Petrobras also outlined potential foreign companies that could be chosen to partner with the local contractors. These include BWO, Modec, Prosafe, SBM and Teekay. As ODS-Petrodata has reported before, technical bids will be submitted July 9, while commercial bids will be opened in August. Plans are to fast-track the two fields via 100,000 b/d pilot schemes, with first production expected in 2012 for Guara and 2013 for Iara. Iara sits in Block BM-S-11 in 7,316 fsw (2,230 msw), while Guara sits in Block BM-S-9 in about 7,024 fsw (2,141 msw).
BRAZIL: Petrobras is understood to have received four proposals for two export lines that are to serve the Roncador P-55 platform. A consortium between Acergy and Global Industries, along with Saipem, Technip and Subsea 7 submitted bids, which are now being evaluated on the technical aspect. The P-55 is a semi that is to develop Module 3 of the Roncador field.
